Group just for DEAF/HH KIds!!!

For kids up to age 21 who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing!  Jeanine Byrnes,

who was born hard of hearing and is a hearing aid user, will be facilitating

the group.

Come meet other kids who are Deaf/HH, have some refreshments, talk to

each other about your achievements and struggles, and share ideas.

KINGSTON AND BENEDICTINE HOSPITALS

TO PROVIDE INTERPRETERS

Jeanine Byrnes, Deaf/Hard of Hearing Community Liaison, met with staff at both Kingston and Benedictine Hospitals.

The hospitals have a new

Language Assistance Program Coordinator, who has been working with Jeanine to educate staff on how to get sign language interpreters.

If you go to either hospital, make sure to let them know you need and interpreter.

If an interpreter is not provided, please contact Jeanine to let her know.

If YOU ARE A TOWN OF POUGKEEPSIE RESIDENT, JEANINE NEEDS YOUR INPUT

Jeanine Byrnes, Deaf/Hard of Hearing Community Liaison, is working with Town of Poughkeepsie representatives to make Town Board meetings accessible for Deaf and Hard of Hearing residents. Accommodations under consideration include closed captioning for televised meetings and live interpreters for those attending meetings.
