SUMMARY:Preparing for Child's Annual Review
DESCRIPTION:Please join our Special Education Advocates\, Karen Lynch and Jennifer O’Neill for a workshop and an open discussion (virtual/Zoom) on preparing parents/caregivers and/or students for their Annual Review meeting. \n\n\n\nTopics that will be discussed include the following:• An overview of ways to review a current Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Accommodation Plan\, school documents (evaluations\, assessments\, other plans\, or data- including progress reports and work product); \n\n\n\n• Methods and strategies to facilitate discussionsto help determine an appropriate education that meets your child’s needs; \n\n\n\n• Tips and Techniques to become an effectiveself-advocate; \n\n\n\n• Approaches to help ensure a child stays in school\, accesses the curriculum/services and reaches educational goals; \n\n\n\n• Finding where and how to access informationon other community resources and services.
