BUILDING SAFE ONLINE HABITS FORCHILDREN AND TEENS WITH DISABILITIES

How do you balance online independence with safety and supervision?

As students spend more time online for school, socializing, and entertainment, families face new challenges in helping children navigate the digital world safely. This workshop will explore common online risks, including scams, cyberbullying, online predators, and oversharing personal information. Participants will learn practical strategies for teaching digital boundaries, recognizing warning signs, supporting safe social media use, and building online safety skills that match their child’s developmental and communication needs.

American Sign-Language interpreters can be requested on the registration form or by emailing Josh at J.Garay@taconicresources.org. Requests MUST be submitted no later than June *10th.

SMOOTH TRANSITIONS: PREPARING STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES FOR SUMMER

What supports and resources are available for your child this summer?

This workshop will help parents and caregivers prepare for a successful summer by exploring strategies for maintaining routines, supporting social-emotional well-being, and creating structure at home while still allowing for rest and fun. Participants will learn about local programs and community resources, ways to prevent regression of academic and executive functioning skills, and tips for easing transitions into new schedules and activities.

American Sign-Language interpreters can be requested on the registration form or by email. Requests MUST be submitted by June 3rd.
