SSI and SSDI info sessions

We have FREE monthly in-person and virtual workshops on ‘How to Apply for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI’) for individuals between the ages of 18 and 64. If you are already at your full retirement age, the option would be to apply for retirement. We can also provide you with general information for Child SSI (under age 18).

For those who are currently receiving SSI and SSDI benefits (between ages 18-64), we also provide monthly workshops that explain the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) work incentives – SSA’s Ticket-To-Work Program! Even if you are only working part-time, there are rules to follow. Avoid an overpayment; be sure you are reporting and tracking your wages.

These informational workshops are tailored for Dutchess County, NYS residents. However, anyone is welcome to attend. Services are paid for in part by Dutchess County Think Differently.

The virtual Zoom meetings are not in a Webinar format. Your display name and camera/video (if you choose to turn on) will be visible to other attendees. The virtual meeting set-up is as if you were attending a workshop in person with other attendees. Do not share any confidential identifying information about yourself or others in group settings. You can schedule a private one-on-one meeting with the benefits counselor after attending the workshop.
