Program Description
The Mid-Hudson Interpreter Service (MHIS), a program of Taconic Resources for Independence, Inc. (TRI), located in Poughkeepsie, New York, has been providing American Sign Language (ASL)/English interpreting and translating services since 1989. MHIS provides sign language interpreting services to the Mid-Hudson Valley area, including Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester Counties.
MHIS provides:
American Sign Language interpreting and translating services to ensure access to effective communication.
American Sign Language interpreters with practical experience working in a variety of settings including medical, business, legal, educational, and beyond.
Assistance in complying with Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act by scheduling interpreters for our customers upon request so they can be sure that effective communication is being provided for all involved parties, both Hearing and Deaf.
